Kepler Labs, a Belgian manufacturer of Nixie-tube design clocks, applied its adhesives by hand. Today a Fairino FR5 cobot does it: the part stays in its fixture and the cobot carries the dispensing head along the glue path, with the dispensing tooling built by Kepler Labs themselves.
Manual glue application depends on who is holding the nozzle that day. Moving it to a cobot makes the process stable and repeatable, which is exactly what matters for adhesive quality.

Application speed and material flow are controlled by the cobot instead of by hand, so the bead is the same on every part. The cobot also wipes the nozzle clean automatically between cycles, which keeps the process stable without an operator stepping in.
